Ticketing/Gate Staff - Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park
NHRA continues to race forward with a number of key initiatives, including a multiyear partnership with FOX Sports to televise NHRA events from the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, and the Pro Mod Drag Racing Series. FOX Sports networks aired more than 500 hours of programming throughout the year, highlighted by 20+ race-day shows, including eight on FOX’s national network, in addition to qualifying broadcasts throughout the weekend. Position Summary:
Ticketing/Gate Staff assist with selling and scanning tickets on-site at race events during the season (March-November). As a member of the Ticketing/Gate Staff Team, you will be an essential part of the guest experience. In this role, you will wear many different hats and have the potential to work in several different areas within Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. You will have the opportunity to assist our guests by handling cash and processing credit card transactions, checking coolers, directing traffic and/or parking of vehicles, hand-stamping guests, and answering guest questions. Working with waivers to ensure all necessary guests (racers, crew, pit visitors) sign the appropriate documentation, as required. Your job will be to keep our fans safe and informed while still maintaining a fun and friendly atmosphere.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sell and scan tickets on-site at race events
- Handle cash and process credit card transactions accurately
- Check coolers and conduct entry inspections per event policies
- Direct traffic and assist with vehicle parking
- Hand-stamp guests upon entry
- Respond to guest questions and provide event information in a friendly, helpful manner
- Administer and manage waivers, ensuring all required participants (racers, crew, pit visitors) sign appropriate documentation
- Maintain a safe, fun, and welcoming atmosphere for all fans
- Provide information and assistance to guests to enhance their race day experience
- Maintain a professional, fun, and friendly atmosphere while interacting with fans and participants
- Contribute to the overall guest experience by delivering excellent customer service
- Adapt to changing assignments and work locations throughout the facility as needed during events
Minimum Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be flexible with meal periods
- Requires the ability to work on a computer, communicate well with customers in a friendly manner, sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and lift up to 20 pounds as needed
- Accurately dispenses tickets as requested by guests; accepts payment and makes change accurately
- Must arrive on time and ready to work at shift start.
- Enforce all facility policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all guests
- Must be able to work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results
- Ability to work well within a team and independently
- Ability to follow and understand verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, racers, crew members, and guests
