  • Job Title: Fabricator/Welder
  • Reports To: Fabrication Shop Manager
  • Hours: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
  • Salary: Negotiable based on experience and qualifications

Force American Made, a subsidiary of John Force Racing, Inc. is looking for an experienced Fabricator who can help to enhance the productivity of our organization. The ideal candidate is a friendly, highly organized, dependable, hard-working and team-oriented individual who meets the following qualifications:

Job Duties and Responsibilities: include the following but other duties may be assigned

• Willingness to change from production to small run short deadline demands;

• Skilled with tig welding equipment;

• Knowledge of sheet metal forming;

• Sheet metal layout knowledge;

• Ability to work with thin wall tubing, cut, notch, fitment, clean for weld quality;

• Good work ethics,

• Make necessary adjustments to maintain print/sketch tolerances and demonstrates a thorough understanding of fabrication;

• Measures dimensions of finished part, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators, or check fixture;

• Able to set up, and operate, welding machines for a variety of material specifications;

• Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) using precision measuring instruments and ensure parts conform to the blueprints;

• Reads work order, blueprints, and specifications to determine fabrication setup, type of material or part, quantity, and finish dimensions;

• Read and interpret blueprints and manufacture parts within specifications;

• Setup and operate for basic manual machines, lathes, mills, drill press bandsaw, grinders, sanders;

• Experience with waterjet, press brake, and punch press is a plus, but not a requirement;

Requirements

• Follow safety protocols for fabrication shop

• Moderate physical effort- working frequently with average weights of ten to fifty pounds or continuously with lighter weights;

• Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull;

• Must be able to lift fifty pounds independently;

• Needs knowledge of various metals and of measurements used in fabrication processes;

• Possess basic shop math skills and ability to perform calculations;

• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment;

• Willingness to assist team mates with projects

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed represent the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum of two years job-related experience or degree at an accredited vocational, technical or higher learning establishment.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in various situations. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form.
